Clyde Scouts & the Glasgow Scout Shop are Moving!

For many years, our shared base at Elmbank Street has been home to both Clyde Scouts and the Glasgow Scout Shop. 

It’s where volunteers have been supported, programmes have been planned, and generations of young people have been equipped for their Scouting adventures. 

This building has played a proud part in our history — and in the memories of so many across Clyde.

But Scouting continues to evolve. The needs of our members have changed, and the growth of online shopping means the Scout Shop now operates very differently from years gone by. 

To make sure we’re offering the best service, and to ensure Clyde Scouts has a space that supports modern ways of working, it’s time for a fresh start.

That’s why both Clyde Scouts and the Glasgow Scout Shop will be leaving Elmbank Street this week. 

This move includes all Clyde Scouts functions, staff, and operations — everything that currently runs from our shared building.

We’ll then begin preparing a brand‑new location that will bring the Region Office and the Scout Shop together once again, in a space better suited to how we support volunteers and young people today.

This is an important step forward. While we’re proud of our heritage — from earlier district premises to our long-standing chapter at Elmbank Street — Scouting has always been about adapting, improving, and preparing for tomorrow.

We will share full details of our new home, provide updates on timelines, contact arrangements, and opening plans soon.
