Reunion refreshes and inspires
2,000 adults in Scouting gathered under the famous oak tree for the 84th Gilwell Reunion, which took place at the weekend. A mix of volunteers, young and old, filled the campsite and got to take part in a range of activities, workshops and entertainments.

Chubb Fire Live Demo - 04-09-2010

Chubb have organised a Live Fire Demo day for Scouts to attend and pass their Scout Fire Safety Badge.

Date: Saturday 4th September 2010

Location: Strathclyde Fire & Rescue, Cowcaddens Fire Station, 91 Port Dundas Road, Cowcaddens, Glasgow G4 1ES 

Chubb Fire has sponsored the Fire Safety Badge for over six years and Chubb typically works with Fire Stations up and down to country to help local Scout groups pass their badge by holding these events throughout the year. The confirmed schedule is as follows:

Schedule for the day:

10.30am Arrivals at the Fire and Rescue Station

10:35am Formal welcome from Jane Garland/Fire Service representative 

10:40am Fire demonstration and photo call from Scott Groesbeck, Chubb Fire Training Officer

11.15am Tour of Fire Station (optional depending on availability of Fire Officers)

Midday Presentation to the Scouts of Certificates/badges, by representative from Fire Station and Chubb senior personnel followed by squash, tea, coffee (if possible)

1pm Everyone departs

Places are limited to 25 Scouts with Leaders and the local press will bee invited to report on the event and take photographs.
