New Programme Lead Appointed

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kevin Kirby as the new Programme Lead. 

Kevin said;“

I have been into Scouting for as long as I can remember, starting out as a Cub in Oxford many years ago. 

When I moved to East Kilbride back in 1998, I got stuck into all sorts of Scouting roles at group, district, and area levels — including being Assistant Area Commissioner for Scouts and leading the Greater Glasgow unit at the 2007 World Scout Jamboree.

In 2013, I set up the 8th Clyde Roman Catholic Scout Group at St Vincent de Paul parish in East Kilbride, and it’s still going strong today. 

After five years of hard work and study, I was ordained as a deacon in the Roman Catholic Church in 2023, and now serve at St Joseph’s in Blantyre.

I have also taken part in the Oxford, Glasgow, and South Western District Gang Shows.

I am married to Hilary, work full-time in sales, and together have five children — all of them former Scouts. 

I am really excited to be starting as the Regional Programme Lead.”
