28th April 2023
Last weekend (Sunday, April 23, 2023), Adam Thomson, Assistant Cub Scout Leader at the 15th Glasgow (Eaglesham), and Heather Turner, Section Leader at Kirkintilloch Explorer Unit, were presented with their Queen (King) Scout Awards as part of the annual day of celebration and achievement at Windsor Castle.
The St. Georges Day event is a prestigious and special event where holders of Queen (King) Scout awards are recognised for achieving the highest youth award. The celebrations include a parade around the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle, viewed by a representative from the Royal Family.

On her achievement, Heather said: βI completed my Queen's Scout award in 2019 and it was the culmination of a lot of work, with particular highlights being attending an international jamboree, assisting beavers, cubs and scouts to achieve badges and creating a community garden at our scout hall.β
Reflecting on the day at Windsor, Heather said: βIt was truly spectacular! Both Windsor Castle and St George's Chapel were stunning locations. Our section had the privilege of leading the parade into the quadrangle. The whole day will stay with me for a long time, and now I'm back home I look forward to working with more young people to achieve their top awards.β
